South Cabarrus Republican Women

The South Cabarrus Republican Women's Club was chartered in 1985. It is a unit club of the North Carolina Federation of Republican Women and, although small in number, is very active. Each year since its charter the club has received one of four Achievement Awards from the National Federation of Republican Women, which are based on the club's political activities, programs, and community service. Membership includes a former Harrisburg mayor and town councilwoman, a former Cabarrus County Commissioner, sitting members of the Cabarrus County School Board, retirees and professional women of all ages. The club has sponsored voter registration tables the past several years at the 4th of July celebrations in both Harrisburg and Mt. Pleasant, as well as participated in the parades. Club members have placed American and NC flags in a local elementary school, sent "care packages" to our troops in Iraq, sponsored a candidate forum before the primary in 2006, and also participate in Federation literacy and scholarship programs. The club publishes a quarterly newsletter called The Party Line, which is now available on-line at www.freewebs.com/sccrwc. In 1999, the club was proud to be the sponsor for Crystal Smithers, who was selected as the North Carolina page for the National Federation of Republican Women Convention held in Seattle.

The South Cabarrus Republican Women' Club meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Harrisburg Lions Club building, located at 507 Patricia Drive in Harrisburg (off NC Hwy. 49). The meetings begin at 07:00 pm and always feature a great guest speaker. Come and join us for serious business, a lot of fun, and warm Republican fellowship.
